Find Leads is how Mokapen helps you build the pipeline: discover companies that match your target, see who works there, and bring the records you need into the address book — without copying from LinkedIn, without scattered spreadsheets, without typing a hundred cards by hand.
It is not a list of customers you already have. It is a prospecting engine inside the CRM: you search the market (industry, country, company size, or a natural-language phrase), pick the companies, then decide whether to save them as they are, enrich them with public data, or go get the people (role, department, professional emails where available).
The convenience is all here: you search and preview in Mokapen; what you import becomes a company or a contact right away, with source Find Leads, ready to connect to a deal, a task or a sequence. One place, not three tools and a CSV.
The average salesperson spends more time finding who to write to than writing. Find Leads shortens that stretch:
In short: use Find Leads to find people you do not have yet; use Corporate Data to complete an Italian company you already have (VAT number, official registry, PEC). They are two different tools: see the dedicated section below.
From the Find Leads page open the cog, or go to the user menu → Integrations → Find Leads.
Three things to set once (then you work from the search page):
On this page you also see available credit and the cost per request type (company data / contact data). The exact cost is the one shown there, before every paid action.
The page is split: filters on the left, natural-language search at the top, results on the right (at first an empty state: “Find companies and people”).
Natural-language search — write as you would to a colleague, then press Search. Useful examples: “SaaS companies in Germany with sales manager”, “machine shops in Italy 50-200 employees”, “hotels in Spain”. Mokapen interprets the phrase and applies filters. It is not magic: if the target is vague (“interesting companies”) the results will be too. Be concrete on industry, geography and size.
Sidebar filters (use them alone or after search, with Apply):
On the results: a table with checkboxes, name, website and the other visible fields. There is a quick filter on the table. On the free plan you see the first block of companies (about 100 per search); on premium plans you can page further. If filters return nothing, widen them (fewer exclusions, broader industry) and try again.
Select one or more companies. The action bar appears. Save to CRM creates (or updates) company cards with name and website visible in the list — no enrichment, no charge.
When to use it: you are mapping a market, you want the names in the address book to come back later, or you are building a list for the team. You do not need phone, description or socials yet.
On the free plan there is a cap: up to 100 companies saved from Find Leads, per organization and per user (the lower of the two). The counter (e.g. 12/100) is at the top next to Search. Deleting companies does not reset the limit. Premium plans have no such cap.
Import runs in the background. At the top, Last results opens the list of what was created or updated: click a row and go to the card in Mokapen.
Enrich companies retrieves available public data (industry, size, address, description, phone, country, socials… depending on mapping) and writes it to the cards. It costs credit: the cost per request is in Settings, and in the window you see the fields that will be updated.
Before confirming, choose how to handle duplicates (company already present, usually by domain):
Then Find and save. Work runs in the background here too; open Last results to see created / updated / skipped.
Select the companies and press Find people (in the window: Get contacts). Here you move from the account to the people: role, department, professional email where available.
Window filters:
Each filter shows a count: it is an estimate for that filter alone. Combining them can return fewer people than it looks. Some emails are protected: visible only after paid import.
You can also tick Enrich and save company data before the contacts preview: complete the company cards first, then pull the people — useful if you want accounts + contacts in one go.
Preview and import charge the contact cost for every email retrieved. The Import button shows the amount. You import in the background; Last results takes you to the contact cards. The contact is created linked to the company, with source Find Leads.
Practical rule: narrow (department + English job title + verified personal email) before importing. Importing “all contacts of 40 companies” burns credit and fills the address book with useless generic addresses.
You already have the names. You are missing the emails. Press Find from file, upload an .xls / .xlsx / .csv (max 4 MB) with first name, last name and company. LinkedIn profile is optional: if present, it can be enough on its own (together with company or LinkedIn).
Mokapen reads the file, shows how many rows are valid and a maximum cost “if all are found”. You pay only for emails actually found: rows with no result are not charged.
Here too you choose how to handle duplicates (skip / replace, as for other imports). Then start: background import, list in Last results.
When to use it: trade-show list, speaker list, event export, names from a partner. When not to: a file without recognizable columns (you need at least first+last name or LinkedIn, and company or LinkedIn).
The wallet is the same as other pay-as-you-go features (SMS, Corporate Data, …). The organization owner tops it up.
Limit “Who can use” if the team is large: a mistaken bulk import costs the org, not the person who clicked.
They get mixed up because both “fill in the company”. They serve different moments:
Typical Italian B2B flow: Find Leads to get on the list → save/enrich → when the lead is serious, on the card press Corporate Data with the VAT number. Do not use Find Leads instead of the official registry, and do not use Corporate Data to “find people you do not know”.
Q: What is Find Leads for?
A: To discover companies and people that match your target and bring them into the Address book — for prospecting, not to fill the official registry of a customer you already have.
Q: Where do I find it in the menu?
A: Address book → Find Leads. The cog opens settings (fields, who can use it, credit).
Q: Do I need to activate an integration or an external account?
A: No. It is available with the Address book. You configure mapping, privacy and who can use it; you do not connect a third-party login.
Q: What is free?
A: Searching and viewing companies; saving name and website to the CRM. On the free plan up to 100 companies saved from Find Leads (the limit does not go down if you delete). Enriching and importing emails is billed from the wallet.
Q: Why don’t I see Find Leads / it says I am not authorized?
A: The Contacts app must be on. Also, in Settings access can be limited to certain users: ask the owner to add you, or to leave “all members”.
Q: Can I use it instead of Corporate Data?
A: No. Find Leads finds prospects and contacts. Corporate Data completes an Italian company from the VAT number (official registry, PEC, financials). You often use them in sequence, not as alternatives.
Q: Why is enrichment blocked?
A: Company field mapping is missing in Settings, or there is no credit, or you have not selected companies. Configure the fields, top up the wallet, select the rows.
Q: Are emails always verified?
A: No. Filter by verification status and type (personal vs generic). Some stay protected until import; others do not exist in public sources. Narrow before you pay.
Q: The file is not accepted. Why?
A: Format .xls, .xlsx or .csv, max 4 MB, recognizable columns for first+last name (or LinkedIn) and company (or LinkedIn). Empty file or without those columns: Mokapen rejects it before charging.
Q: Where do the records end up?
A: In Companies and Contacts, with source Find Leads. Import is in the background: use Last results (or Open companies / Open contacts) to open the cards. Then you work as on any record: tags, deals, tasks.
Q: Can I run it from an automation?
A: No. Search and import are done from Find Leads (or from a file). Automations start after, on records already in the CRM.
