Currency

The Currency page defines the organization's currencies and which one is the company currency (default). You use them on opportunities, product/service prices, quote and order line items, certain entity properties, and in reports that convert amounts.

Path: Organization settings → SalesCurrency card. A shortcut is often available from the Actions menu of Quotes, Orders, or Opportunities (Owner only).

Who can access

  • Owner — opens and manages the page.
  • Other roles — cannot enter the currency settings (the shortcut from lists may be disabled).

Adding a new currency requires a suitable Premium plan (sales tier). Without one, the button opens the upgrade flow. Editing, setting as default, or deleting remain available to anyone with owner access to the page.

Managing currencies

The list shows code/currency, exchange rate relative to the company currency, and the date the rate was last updated.

  • New currency — choose from the international catalogue; Mokapen imports the reference exchange rate relative to the default.
  • Company currency (default) — the one used as reference (default sort). You can set another as default.
  • Edit / Delete — do not delete the default currency without first setting another one. Deleting a currency may cause opportunities and other properties that use it to lose their reference: confirm carefully.

Rates come from the country/system catalogue; in the typical UI you do not manually enter an arbitrary rate as in a forex desk.

Where it is used in Sales

  • Opportunities — amount and currency; conversion to the company currency where applicable.
  • Products and services — unit price with currency.
  • Quotes and orders — currency on line items; totals and PDFs use the configured currencies.
  • Reports — aggregations and exchange toward the default.

For tax rates see the dedicated Taxes guide (another block under Sales).

Tips

  • Set the correct company currency (e.g. EUR) right away, before loading your catalogue and quotes.
  • Add only the currencies you actually use (USD, GBP…) to keep the selects uncluttered.
  • Before deleting a currency, check opportunities and price lists that still reference it.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Why can't I add a currency?

A: You need a suitable Premium plan and the Owner role.

Q: Are currency and taxes the same thing?

A: No. Currency = money and exchange rates. Taxes = VAT/fiscal rates on products and documents.

Q: Where do I set the country?

A: In General → Information (also useful for default tax rates).
