Customization — Calendar

This page does not create and does not move appointments. It decides how the calendar opens and which record types are on in the Show menu. That way a sales team starts from the week with deals and appointments, and an operations team from the day with tasks, without everyone rebuilding the filter every morning.

The records stay where they are. Turning a type off hides it from the grid; it does not delete it.

How to open the page

Open Organization → Customization and, in Navigation & filters, the Calendar card. You need the Small plan or higher.

The badge says Organization settings if you are the Owner and you came in from For the organization, or Settings for me only if you are in For me. Your personal row, if saved, always beats the organization default. The two-level picture is in the Customization guide.

In the personal scope, if the owner has already saved a default, the page shows who did it and when. If that line is not there, you are starting from the product defaults.

Default view

Three choices, only one active. It is the view the calendar opens on, not a lock: during the day you can still switch from month to week or day from the calendar itself. That session change is not recorded here. Tomorrow, on open, you get the view you saved.

  • Month — month grid, useful to see the load.
  • Week — the product default, with time slots.
  • Day — a single day, when you work by slot.

If nobody has saved anything yet, Mokapen opens on the week.

Entities on by default

Each box is a record type the calendar can draw. You only see the types of the modules that are on for you: tasks, projects, appointments, bookings, deals, tickets, orders, quotes, and if the apps are there also presences and shifts.

Out of the box, if nobody has saved anything, tasks, appointments and deals are on. Bookings, tickets, projects, orders and quotes start off: turn them on if that team works on the calendar with those records. Bookings also stay off by default so they do not duplicate linked appointments.

At least one type must stay. If you clear every box and press Save, Mokapen restores the three default types (tasks, appointments, deals). The Show menu on the calendar will use this list as the initial state: you can still tick or untick a type in the session, but on the next open it returns to what you saved.

Save, Revert, Home

Choose view and boxes, then press Save. Open the calendar: it starts with that view and those types. Without save, nothing changes.

Your personal preference beats the organization's. A colleague who has not saved anything uses the owner's default, or the three product types if that is missing too.

Revert asks for confirmation and deletes only the level you have open (yours or the organization's). It does not delete appointments. It deletes the view and type preference.

The Calendar card on Home uses the same preferences. If you take tickets off Entities on by default, you do not see them in the home pane either. Go back closes the editor without saving by itself.

Frequently asked questions

I cannot see shifts among the boxes. The Shifts module is not on, or your role does not have the app. The list follows the modules that are on and the permissions; it is not a fixed list.

I saved for the organization but a colleague still sees the week. That colleague has a Settings for me only preference, or you actually saved the week (it is the product default). The organization default does not override someone who already has a personal row: the colleague must press Revert on their page.

Did changing the view here move the appointments? No. It only changes the grid the calendar opens on and the types on in Show. Record dates and times stay as they are.

Today I switched to month, but I saved week: what do I see tomorrow? Tomorrow, on open, you get the week again. The change made from the calendar during the day applies to that session; it does not replace Default view.

I cleared every box and on save three types came back. That is the expected behaviour. At least one type is required. Mokapen restores tasks, appointments and deals.

On the Calendar card on home I cannot see tickets. Tickets are not among Entities on by default. Turn them on here, save, and the same choice applies to home.

I cannot find orders in the list of boxes. The Orders module is off, or your role does not include it. Turn the app on and come back to Customization: the box arrives together with the module.

I saved for me only: the colleague sees a different calendar. Yes. Settings for me only apply to your user. The colleague uses the organization default or their own.

Did Revert delete the appointments? No. It only deleted the view and type preference. Appointments are records: they stay in the agenda.
