The menu is the header you use to move from one app to another: Tasks, Deals, Tickets, a module you created. From here you decide the order, how to group the items and, if you are the Owner, who must not see an item. Horizontal menu and vertical menu use the same order: you set it once.
You are not turning a module on or off, and you are not removing a permission. You are deciding how navigation looks. A colleague who knows an app URL can still open it if their role allows it.
Open Organization → Customization and, in Navigation & filters, the Menu card. You need the Small plan or higher.
The badge next to the title says whether you are editing Organization settings (only the Owner, from the For the organization block) or Settings for me only (from the For me block). Your personal version, if you save it, replaces the owner's default only for your user. The two-level picture is in the Customization guide.
On the left is the menu you are composing, under the title Menu containers. On the right, Available apps: the apps not yet inserted, with a search by name. It is not the live header: it is the table you prepare it on. The header changes after Save.
A container is a group with a title (Activities, Sales, a name of yours). Apps sit inside it, in the order you drag them. New container creates an empty one. Drag the containers to decide the order of the groups in the header.
An app is a module item. Drag it from Available apps into a container, or leave it free in the header, without a group. An app sits in one place only: if you move it, it leaves where it was. You cannot put it in two containers.
Add external link opens a form with a label and a URL. The address must be complete, with https. Example: an «Intranet» link to https://intranet.company.com, or an external helpdesk. In the form you can choose a container, or No container — free in header. The link is not a Mokapen app: it does not create a record, it is only a menu item.
Only apps that are on for the organization appear. If you turn a module off in Applications, the item leaves the menu and Available apps. Active custom modules are offered on the right, ready to drag.
Only in the organization default does the Owner see the eye icon: Hide for users/teams. Choose users or teams. Those people do not see the item, even if the module is on and even if they have a personal menu that would otherwise include it. The hide rule belongs to the organization and beats the personal layout.
In Settings for me only that icon is not there. The personal menu does not set who sees an item: it only sets your order. Hide for users/teams rules are managed from the For the organization block.
Hiding does not remove permission on the data. Anyone who knows the module URL can still open it if their role allows it. It is there to simplify the menu, not to replace roles or security.
Compose the menu on the left, then press Save. Without a save the header does not change. Reload the working page: the header uses the new order on the next load.
Mokapen chooses the menu in this order: first your personal version, if you have saved one; otherwise the organization default; otherwise the product menu (the standard groups of the apps that are on).
Revert asks for confirmation and deletes only the level you have open. A user who reverts goes back to the owner's default, if they have one, not necessarily to the original Mokapen menu. If the owner reverts the organization, colleagues with a personal menu keep seeing it.
Go back closes the editor without saving by itself and returns to the Customization hub.
I ordered the vertical menu and the horizontal one is different. They should not be: they share the same order. If you see the old header, you have not saved, or the page was already open before the save. Reload it. Light/dark and the horizontal/vertical choice live in the user profile, not on this page.
A colleague cannot see the item I put in the menu. Check Hide for users/teams on the organization default, and that the app is on. The colleague's personal menu does not override an item hidden by the organization.
The external link does not open. Check that the URL is complete, with https. An address without a protocol, or an internal path copied halfway, goes nowhere. The link is a navigation item, not a Mokapen app.
I cannot see the eye icon. You are in Settings for me only. Hiding users and teams is done only from For the organization, and the Owner does it.
I dragged the apps but the header stayed the same.Save is missing. Until you press it, the menu at the top (or on the left, if it is vertical) stays the previous one. After saving, reload.
An app does not appear in Available apps. The module is off in Applications, or your role does not include it. Turn the module on and come back here: the item arrives on the right, ready to drag.
Can I put the same app in two containers? No. An app sits in one place only. If you drag it into a second group, it leaves the first.
Revert did not restore the original Mokapen menu. That is the expected behaviour. Revert on the personal level goes back to the owner's default, if they have saved one. To get the product menu, that default must be missing too, or the owner must revert the organization.
I added a link and no record was created. Correct: the external link is only an item in the header. It does not create a contact, a deal or a page in Mokapen. It is there to open a site, the intranet or a shared sheet.
