MailerLite Campaigns

The MailerLite Campaigns integration connects your MailerLite Modern account to Mokapen to sync already sent email campaigns, their related KPIs (sent, opens, clicks) and recipient actions (who opened the email, who clicked a link). Data lands in Marketing → Campaigns, in reports and — key point — on the contact record, where you see whether that person opened or clicked a campaign.

It is an inbound integration: data flows from MailerLite to Mokapen. Mokapen does not create or modify campaigns on MailerLite.

It is separate from MailerLite (subscriber/list sync): that one aligns the master contact data; this one brings campaigns, KPIs and engagement. You can use both together.

Overview: Integrations. Destination module: Campaigns.

Requirements

  • MailerLite Modern account (not Classic) with at least one already sent campaign.
  • API key for the Modern platform (Connect token), with sufficient permissions to read campaigns and subscriber activity.
  • Mokapen plan that includes the integration (suitable Premium plan — medal icon on the page if not available).
  • Marketing → Campaigns module to browse the list and KPIs (included in higher Premium plans where applicable; otherwise medal icon on the page).

Connect MailerLite Campaigns

  1. User menu → IntegrationsMailerLite Campaigns.
  2. Click Sync MailerLite Campaigns (a suitable Premium plan is required).
  3. In the API key section, enter the key for your MailerLite Modern account (not Classic) and click Connect.
  4. When Account connected appears, configure sync direction, field mapping, duplicates/conflicts, automatic sync and privacy.
  5. Check the sync authorization and click Save or Sync.

The page states explicitly: Only sent campaigns are synced. Drafts and scheduled campaigns that have not yet been sent are not imported into Mokapen.

What is synced

On first connection (and then with automatic/manual sync and webhooks) Mokapen imports:

  • Sent campaigns — title, status, dates, type, MailerLite source. They appear in Marketing → Campaigns.
  • Campaign KPIs — typically sent, opens, clicks (aggregate send statistics).
  • Subscriber actions — for each recipient with relevant interactions, Mokapen syncs opens and clicks on the campaign.
  • Campaign contacts / leads — if the subscriber's email matches an existing contact (or is created/updated according to mapping and duplicate rules), engagement is linked to that record and to the campaign.

In practice, activity sync considers subscribers who have opened or clicked (it does not import those who did not interact). With automatic sync active, opens and clicks can also arrive in near real time via MailerLite webhooks (campaign.open, campaign.click).

Sync direction is to Mokapen only (one way): you do not export campaigns from Mokapen to MailerLite.

Settings to configure

Sync direction

Available only to Mokapen (inbound). There is no bidirectional sync on campaigns.

Field mapping

In the Connect fields section, match MailerLite fields to Mokapen contact fields. Email is required and is typically already linked: without email, engagement is not connected to the CRM. Each Mokapen column can only be used once; leave blank («skip») what you do not need.

Duplicates and conflicts

  • Avoid duplicates — email comparison: if the recipient already exists in the Directory, Mokapen updates that record instead of creating a second one.
  • Manage conflicts — if the same mapped fields differ, choose whether MailerLite or Mokapen takes precedence.

Automatic sync and privacy

  • Automatic sync — periodic updates + webhook events on opens/clicks (if active and the integration is not paused).
  • Manual sync — you run synchronization when needed.
  • Privacy — visibility of imported data (public for members, or restricted to selected collaborators), as with other marketing integrations.

Only whoever connected the account (or was given shared sync management) can change settings, sync or disconnect.

Where you see the data

  • Marketing → Campaigns — list of MailerLite email campaigns with source, status, KPIs (sent / opens / clicks) and linked leads, together with Ads and other newsletters.
  • Reports → Campaigns — comparisons by source and period (newsletter vs Ads, performance per campaign).
  • Contact record → timeline / updates — see whether the contact has opened or clicked a campaign (with campaign name and how many times), also filterable by marketing channel.
  • Contact record → Connections → Campaigns — the campaign stays linked to the contact as a connected entity.

What you see on the contact (opens and clicks)

This is the operational value of the sync: not just totals in Campaigns, but individual behavior.

  • Open a contact in the Directory.
  • In the timeline (updates / marketing) entries appear such as: the contact has opened «Campaign name» N time(s), or has clicked «Campaign name» N time(s).
  • The contact may have the linked campaign / source tied to that newsletter, so sales and marketing know which send the interest came from.

Example: you send a product newsletter → in Marketing → Campaigns you see total opens and clicks → open contact «Maria Rossi» and in the timeline read that she opened the campaign and clicked the link: you can call her or assign a follow-up without opening MailerLite.

MailerLite vs MailerLite Campaigns

AspectMailerLite (contacts)MailerLite Campaigns
PurposeSubscriber / list / master data syncSent campaigns + KPIs + opens/clicks
DirectionTo Mokapen, to MailerLite or bothTo Mokapen only
PlatformClassic or ModernModern only
Contact timelineDoes not bring campaign opens/clicksYes: opened / clicked + count

Typical flow: use MailerLite to keep the subscriber list aligned; use MailerLite Campaigns to see performance and who interacted after each send.

Automations

There is no dedicated «MailerLite campaign open» trigger, but contacts created or updated by engagement (when sync creates/updates the record) can feed contact automations (e.g. Contact Created / Contact Created or Modified), if the plan includes automations. Useful to assign a salesperson or create a follow-up activity for those who clicked.

Limits to know

  • Sent campaigns only — drafts and scheduled campaigns not yet sent are not synced.
  • MailerLite Modern only — Classic is not supported by this integration.
  • Inbound only — you do not modify campaigns on MailerLite from Mokapen.
  • Relevant engagement — typically those who opened or clicked are imported; those who did not interact do not generate a campaign activity row.
  • Email required — without mapped email, linking to the CRM contact does not work.
  • Campaigns module on a higher plan — connecting the integration requires a suitable Premium plan; viewing Marketing → Campaigns may require the higher level (medal icon on the page).

Common issues

  • No campaigns in the list — verify that sent campaigns exist on MailerLite Modern, that sync has started and that the Campaigns module is available on your plan.
  • Connection failed — Classic key used by mistake, expired/regenerated key, or wrong account type: generate a new Modern API key, disconnect and reconnect.
  • I don't see opens/clicks on the contact — check email mapping, that the subscriber actually interacted, and that the record is the one with the same email; rerun sync or wait for webhooks if automatic sync is active.
  • Duplicates in the Directory — enable «Avoid duplicates» and verify email mapping before syncing in bulk.
  • I can't change the settings — only whoever connected (or has shared sync) manages the page; ask that user or the Owner.

Disconnecting

From Integrations → MailerLite Campaigns click Disconnect. In the window you can choose to keep the Campaigns already synced in Mokapen. Contacts and timeline entries already created are not deleted automatically when disconnecting. To confirm, type the required text in the modal.

Use cases

  • Follow-up on those who clicked — after a newsletter, filter contacts with clicks in the timeline and assign them to a salesperson for a call.
  • Newsletter KPIs in the same place as Ads — compare MailerLite opens/clicks with Facebook or Google spend/clicks in Marketing → Campaigns and in reports, without opening three consoles.
  • Engagement history on the record — the salesperson opens the contact and sees which campaigns they opened or clicked in recent months, before the call.
  • Campaign attribution — the contact stays linked to the source campaign: you know which send generated interest.
  • List + campaigns together — MailerLite (contacts) keeps the list aligned; MailerLite Campaigns brings the results of each send into the CRM.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What is synced?

A: Sent email campaigns, aggregate KPIs (sent, opens, clicks) and recipient actions (opened / clicked) linked to CRM contacts when email is mapped.

Q: Where do I see if a contact opened or clicked?

A: On the contact record, in the timeline / updates (and in campaign connections). The campaign name and how many times they opened or clicked appear.

Q: Does it work with MailerLite Classic?

A: No. You need MailerLite Modern and its API key.

Q: Why don't I see drafts?

A: Only already sent campaigns are synced.

Q: Does Mokapen modify my campaigns on MailerLite?

A: No. The integration is read-only toward Mokapen.

Q: Do I also need to connect MailerLite (contacts)?

A: Not required, but useful if you also want to align lists/subscribers. Campaigns and engagement come from MailerLite Campaigns.

Q: What plan do I need?

A: A suitable Premium plan to connect the integration; the Marketing → Campaigns module may require a higher level. If a feature is not available, the medal icon appears on the page.

Q: What happens if I disconnect?

A: You can choose whether to keep campaigns already imported. Contacts and the open/click history already in the CRM remain.
