The Updates tab is the operational history of every Mokapen record: who did what, when, and on which field. It is not a generic team chat (use Comments in the Data tab for that): it is the log of changes, connections created, emails sent to the customer, and — on contacts and companies — linked messages and marketing events.
Opening Updates lets you immediately understand the evolution of a task, opportunity, or contact without asking colleagues or searching through emails.
The tab serves to:
Updates tab (bell icon) on almost every Mokapen record — side panel or full page. It is often in the dropdown menu (arrow) next to other tabs, together with Marketing or Sync where applicable.
Available in all main CRM areas: Activities, Directory, Sales, Support, and other modules with structured records (catalog, quotes, orders, documents, bookings…). No need for an entity-by-entity list: if you open a record with Data and Connections tabs, you almost always find Updates with the same logic everywhere.
Same content in side panel and full page (page task, page deal, page document…): on full page you have more space for long timelines.
At the top of the tab you find a Filters menu to narrow the timeline:
Without a filter you see the full flow in chronological order (most recent at top). Scroll to load earlier entries if the list is long.
The most frequent entry: «Marco changed the Price field to: €120», «Laura updated the status», «System created the task».
Also recorded: attachment added, task closed/reopened, entity linked, email sent to participants.
Comments you write at the bottom of the Data tab (or in the record's comments section) also appear here when filtering by Comments. They are team conversations: @colleague mentions, operational notes, clarification requests. They do not replace field changes — if you change a product price, you see the automatic update in Updates; if you write «10% discount agreed with customer», that is a comment.
When Mokapen sends emails linked to the record (e.g. rescheduled appointment notification, ticket reply to customer, document send), an entry appears such as «sent the appointment by email to …» with recipients. So you know if the customer was notified without leaving the CRM.
On contacts and companies, with active email integration, synced conversation traces may also appear — filter with Messages or consult the dedicated Email tab on the contact record.
If from a product you create an opportunity with + Create and connect, or link a ticket to a contact, the action appears in Updates: «connected the opportunity …» with a clickable link to the linked record. Filtering by entity type you quickly find all tasks born from that deal or all opportunities linked to that company.
Complementary to the Connections tab (structured view of relationships): Updates is the timeline of what happened over time.
On Contact or Company records, the Messages filter shows submissions from site forms, Mokapen landing pages, or webhooks linked to the contact's email: form title, date, source. Useful to understand which campaign the lead came from and what they wrote, alongside master data changes made by sales.
With the Marketing filter you see campaign subscriptions, tracked events (opens, conversions from marketing forms) linked to the contact. It complements the Marketing tab on the record for a chronological view of touchpoints before the deal.
The Updates tab is identical in the modal and on full page (page task, page deal, page product…). On full page you have more height to scroll long timelines and can keep the record open while working on other browser tabs. Open full page from the expand arrows icon in the action bar (Premium).
When cloning an entity (task, opportunity, product, service, contact…) you can choose whether to copy comments and updates too in the Clone modal. By default the new record starts with a clean timeline; including Updates is rarely needed (e.g. audit on templates). See individual entity guides for the Clone procedure.
Combine Updates with Connections, Checklist, and Labels for the complete picture of every CRM record.
