Lincoln Park Historical Foundation and the LeRoy Neal Research Center was founded by Anita Neal Powell in 19 

The purpose of Lincoln Park Historical Foundation's purpose is to enhance community pride by focusing on the supporting the African Americans communities.   To encourage community participation through training; To provide access to information; To facilitate communication between diverse groups; To empower county citizens with researching the history of their community; To provide ongoing programs, which support poor, distressed and under-served areas, and services, which strive to increase the quality of life for those citizens through shared community history, and; To organize webinars to focus on voter training, special outreach events, and To provide community service hours for those who need to give back to the community.
